I just purchased my camera this last week and I have taken very few pictures yet. I am still reading all the books that came with it but anyone with pointer on things I should try let me know. Just trying to get to know the camera. I wanted to try and take pictures of fireworks but couldn't find anything that really told me how to do it.
A few weeks ago, the St. John's Bazaar comes to town, as it does every June. It's a weekend festival of the scary, quickly-assembled type. I haven't gone to it since I was quite young, but I did take some pictures of the ferris wheel this year:

I am so excited I finally got to upgrade my camera. I looked for a while and my price range was really limiting but found one I think is going to really be great. It is a Nikon D40. I am still reading the instructions and suggestions on additional lenses and light sources but that is all future right now learning to use what I have should be lots of fun. I had been looking at the D80 but just don't think I really need all that yet.(maybe never).
I made my reservations for my Trip to NY I leave here on 15 Jul and return 20 Aug can't wait to see the Grandkids there. I am going to make a tee shirt that says "Grandma Looking For Grandkids" and put all their pictures on the back. I think it will be cute. We haven't seen each other for three years and the Twins are only three yrs 5 mos. Think they will get a kick out of it when they see it.(I'll try to post pictures when I get it made)
I still am hoping to make it to D.C. while I am out there but money is going to be tight. Just have to wait and see. Maybe Melissa and the kids will be able to go with me. Destiny is 11 or 12 now and think it would be very interesting to her to see all the monuments, the White House and Capital Hill. It is someplace I have always wanted to go and just never made it.
I hope to get lots and lots of new picture with my new camera. Maybe even the Falls.
Its nice to be quoted in a national industry publication like REALTOR Magazine when you are from a small town in Northern Maine. Off the beaten path but in an area with plenty to brag about, lots to showcase on the national level Videos from the local community portal are one more new way to expose the great place you live on the planet. Instead of just a few images and some old tired copy for property, real estate brokers now need to step it up with video on the listing and the area, and to get the word out about where the real estate is located. Details, packaged to not waste time, not too flashy...just the facts. Quick, consise and easy to digest. We live in a drive thru society that wants it now..and video can do it quickly. Sit back and enjoy the show!
